iPhone 2.0 Firmware - Search Contacts, Create Groups and Send/Accept Meeting Invites

iPhone firmware 2.0 Beta (5A240d) has been seeded to Developers and sheds some light on what can be expected with the new iPhone OS. Among the new features is the much wanted/needed ability to search your phone contacts, the ability to create groups from contacts and send and receive meeting invites.

Engadget posted some great screenshots courtesy one of it's readers. As you can see the search feature is neatly placed at the top of the contacts page which should make finding a contact simple to find, but can you search either by name, number or business name?

The other new feature added is the meeting invites tray in the calendar that displays your invitations similar to how missed SMS messages are displayed.

Another great feature added is Groups in your Contacts, presently you can only add groups via Mail on your Mac or Outlook on your PC, but 2.0 Firmware looks like it may bring this feature to the phone itself thankfully.

very nice.

This makes me want to upgrade but I don't want to have to reinstall all my apps and then go through the long process of searching/adding fixes here and there...you know how that goes and how it can mess up your day.

Is there any solution for upgrading while keeping your current app setup?
