RipDev, creators of Caterpillar for the iPhone have released a cool little feature tot he iPhone for taking quick screen shots of your phone. Seems as though the feature was always present on the phone and they just found a way to activate it and what ingenious about it is that it uses the limited iPhone hardware buttons to accomplish the screen shot :) so you can now easily take screenshots of your lock screen from the phone.
By pressing the Home button and switching the Mute button off/o,m you'll see a white flash on the screen indicating that the screen shot has been taken. .. sweet! (my first thoughts were if the mute symbol was taken in the screen shot, and fortunately its not)
This is a really neat way to take screen shots without switching an app on or off and needing Dock or Screenshot. This will also not conflict with Caterpillar, unlike Dock and ScreenShot.
To install simply add RipDev's source to Installer:
- Add http://repository.ripdev.com/ to Installer.app if you haven't already
- Install Apple Screenshot Enabler from the RiP Dev category
- Take your screenshots
